Why Donate to the African American Art & Culture Complex
The African American Art & Culture Complex (AAACC) provides year-round after-school arts education programming for children and youth. Our principal constituency, are African American children and youth whose families require extensive after-school care due to single female headed households, work requirements, absence of low cost childcare, difficulties transporting children from school to out of school sites and - other circumstances that confront African American urban communities.
AAACC is a three-story facility that includes a 210-seat theatre, an art gallery, two dance studios, library and archive room, meeting facilities, computer lab and multi-purpose cultural hall. The Center provides programming which includes multiple forms of dance, visual arts, graphic art and design, performing art, literary arts including poetry, and music, designed primarily for children and youth throughout San Francisco’s Western Addition neighborhood.
The goals of the African American Art and Culture Complex are to expand Afro-centric cultural activities, enhance knowledge and appreciation for varied art forms, and encourage and promote growth and understanding of African American art and culture.
